Love it! This story would be right at home around 2035 or so in the new scenario we're working on. How would you feel if we linked to it approvingly?

(That is, this story seems to depict roughly human-level AGI, not crazy superintelligence, operating for a period of several years, during an industrial explosion that's perhaps not quite as fast as it could be, but still very fast by historic standards. Which is what I expect conditional on there being some decent amount of *effective, targeted* regulation & alignment being solved (perhaps due to the regulation)).

Only thing that seems missing off the cuff is that this sort of business wouldn't exist in a vacuum for more than *maybe* a few years. Very little of what you describe is copyrightable, so as soon as these sorts of homes began gaining popularity, traditional competitors would start work on similarly structured variations on the automated theme.

First, this story was great and very plausible near-term fiction. I shared with some friends, who started speculating you would have to secure the 1 MW nuclear reactor against other AI-bots, possibly from other corporations or scavengers, looking for free juice at night when it's not allowed to operate. Dynamic systems are hard!

There will be multi-story construction. Just like there will be joiners and sealers, while many robots may have designs and functions that make it too hard for climbing stairs themselves, there will be specialized "over-stairs carrier" bots to move the other bots. I love the idea of the modern civic association grumbler having their own agent that constantly monitors this rich feed of data for road closures or aesthetic violations to heckle the site supervisor agent.

Then TBC become BNL from WALL-E, except GLP1 Receptor agonist and anti-aging biotech means everyone is fit instead of fat and it looks like Logan's Run without the running.
